In much of the first half of the 20th century, deaf Americans recognized Ohio as a national center of deaf culture and activism. Drawn together by the rubber industry, war-time labor needs, skilled sports teams, and political action, deaf Ohioans created community and lives for their families. They fought discrimination and claimed legitimacy. Join Dr. Kim Nielsen from the University of Toledo in a virtual discussion to learn more about this rich history!
