Join us for a fascinating trip to Fort Ancient Earthworks & Nature Preserve- one of North Americas most remarkable prehistoric sites!
 
Nestled high above the Little Miami River, Fort Ancient is the largest hilltop enclosure in the United States, built by the Hopewell culture over 2,000 years ago. During this guided tour we will explore nearly 3.5 miles of ancient earthen walls, learn how and why these impressive mounds were constructed, and discover what archeologist have uncovered about the daily lives, beliefs, and trade networks of the region's inhabitants.
 
This educational experience offers a unique opportunity to connect with real- world history while enjoying time outdoors.
 
Transportation will be provided. We will depart from the CRC at 10:30 AM. Please be at the CRC by then if you plan to ride with us.
 
Please pack a lunch. We will eat together in the picnic area before our tour scheduled from 1-2:30PM.
 
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and attire, tour involves moderate walking on natural terrain.
